THE BUICK ENCORE GETS A LARGER VARIANT WITH THE GX MODEL, NOW FOR SALE IN PALATKA

For almost a decade, Buick has presented the Encore as its subcompact crossover offering. Now, this luxury marquee from General Motors has a larger version of its famous nameplate and dubs it the Encore GX. The GX has many of the original's attributes while surpassing it in other aspects. The Encore GX SUV is available in Preferred, Select, and Essence trim levels.  

The Buick Encore GX is powered by a 1.2-liter inline 4-cylinder engine, which produces 137 horsepower and 162 pound to feet of torque and is tied to a 9-speed automatic transmission. Buick offers a choice between front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, as well as a trailering equipment package that enables a maximum towing capacity of 1,000 lbs. The Encore GX has two rows of leatherette-appointed seats. The front consists of a 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat and an 8-way power-adjustable passenger seat and the rear seatback can be folded down to expand cargo space. Remote start, dual-zone automatic climate control, a garage-door opener, and a SiriusXM satellite radio subscription appear on the Select. And only the Essence has an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The Encore GX has a driver-assistance suite in the form of Buick Driver Confidence, which joins other safety features such as a rearview camera, eight airbags, LED daytime running lights, StabiliTrak (for electronic stability control with traction control), Teen Driver mode, and an anti-theft system. On the Select and Essence, Buick adds rear cross-traffic alert and lane change alert with side blind zone alert.
